INSTANT FELON? ATF-U

Welp, we knew this stupid, illogical and targeted nonsense was coming! I spend the majority of my adult life being a responsible, law abiding citizen. Just like that, the Alphabet Boys (ATF) turned me into a felon overnight. WOW! On January 13, 2023, the ATF announced that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland signed the stabilizer brace rule. This rule is effective the date that it is published in the Federal Register. According to the NFA website, "Any weapons with 'stabilizing braces' or similar attachments that constitute rifles under the NFA must be registered no later than 120 days after date of publication in the Federal Register; or the short barrel removed and a 16-inch or longer rifle barrel attached to the firearm; or permanently remove and dispose of, or alter, the 'stabilizing brace' such that it cannot be reattached; or the firearm is turned in to your local ATF office; or the firearm is destroyed." And just like that my Black ass just became a felon.
The First
The photo above is my OMNI HYBRID AR PISTOL chambered in 5.56 Nato. I will never forget the way I felt the day the first time I saw her. A friendly gun store clerk, Kyle, at Mollys Outdoors in Maryland, put her in my hands. It was love at first sight. He ran me through why it was considered a pistol. Kyle went on to explain the ATF ruling that made putting a brace on the new love of my life legal. My love affair began.
What are Braces?

A pistol brace, also known as a stabilizing brace, is an accessory that attaches to the rear of the gun. The pistol brace allows the firearm to be fired one-handed with ease. Plain and simple! The inventor of the brace, SB Tactical’s Alex Bosco, came up with the idea in 2012 after shooting at a range with a disabled combat veteran. Bosco witnessed first hand the struggles a disabled shooters can face. The pistol brace gives disabled shooters autonomy and maintains their sense of tenacity.
What makes it "BAD"?
ABSOULTY NOTHING! First off, let me not discount the fact the United States has a mass shooting problem. Before continuing, I would like to send love and prayers to every victim, family members, school teachers, and students affected by these meaningless and cowardly acts of violence. The lasting impact of mass shootings is infinite. The government should not use acts of senseless killing to regulate the gun industry. Demonizing a brace that was invented to benefit soldiers who are disabled from fighting for our country is not part of the solution. Rather, the government and the ATF must focus on the mental health issues that are plaguing our great nation.
